Client testimonials

Do not just take our word for it. See how our lightweight architectural elements are saving schedules and budgets across the country.

We ordered balustrade sections for a resort project in Palm Springs, where temps swing crazy between day and night. Honestly thought that EPS foam wouldn’t hold up, but a year later, the items haven’t cracked or faded, and the texture still resembles plaster. Crew said the install was smooth, zero headaches.

Matthew W.

Fremont, CA

Needed custom columns for a civic center in Denver. Snow, ice, then blazing sun—these things take a beating. The finish still looks sharp, paint bonded perfectly, no peeling. Clients keep asking if they’re real cast stone. That realism is what sold me.

Jack A.

Denver, CO

We chose decorative arches for a shopping plaza in Miami. Humidity here usually wrecks finishes, but these held up through two hurricane seasons. Texture reads authentic, not “imitation”. Board approved first round, which rarely happens.

Marcus L.

Miami, FL

Ordered cornice profiles for a hotel renovation in Chicago. Wind, rain, freeze‑thaw cycles — you name it. Six months in, still crisp edges, no warping. The texture fooled even the architect, who thought we’d gone with carved plaster. Saved us a serious budget.

Anna T.

Chicago, IL

We used DAS balustrades on a rooftop terrace in Phoenix. Extreme heat usually kills finishes, but these EPS ones stayed solid. No chalking, no cracks. Texture looks like cast stone, clients couldn’t tell the difference. Would select this vendor again without hesitation.

Marc D.

Phoenix, AZ

Needed pediments for a courthouse restoration. Rain nonstop here, so durability was key. Pieces arrived clean, were easy to install, and, after months of drizzle, still look fresh. And as a bonus, all this without any special treatment. Texture matches historic profiles — passersby even thought we’d sourced original stone.

Custom Architectural Foam Shapes for Every Façade, Entrance and Interior

Good buildings are made of details: a cornice that finishes the roofline, a keystone that gives an opening some weight, a column that makes a porch feel like it belongs to the house. This store gathers those details in one place. Decorative Architectural Shapes designs and fabricates lightweight architectural elements from an engineered EPS core protected by a polyurea hard coat, and the catalog on this page is where most projects begin.

The store is organized by element type: antique flower pots, appliques and onlays, arcade and colonnade systems, arches and keystones, architectural column kits, balustrade and railing systems, column capitals and bases, commercial and residential cornices, crown moldings, decorative moldings and decorative trims. Further catalog pages continue with estate entrance and gateway kits, exterior corbels and brackets, louvers and shutters, pediments, wall niches and faux stone facade panels.

Some customers pick a profile straight from the catalog. Others arrive with a drawing, a photo of an old building or a loose sketch and use the catalog to describe what they want. Both routes work, because everything here is made to order rather than pulled off a warehouse shelf.

Front Door Surrounds 9

A Fabricator, Not a Reseller

Most online stores sell whatever a distributor has in stock. We work the other way around: the store is the front door to a production facility in Jacksonville, Florida, and the people who answer your questions are the people who will cut, coat and ship your order.

That matters for architectural fabrication in a practical way. A standard size is rarely right for a real opening. A renovation inherits odd proportions, a hotel entrance may need a column far taller than anything in a brochure, and windows are never exactly where the plans said. Because the work is produced in-house, dimensions follow the building, not the other way around.

Browse the Catalog by Architectural Element

Start from the part of the building you are working on.

Entrances, porches and columns. Columns give a building scale and a sense of permanence, which is why architectural column kits are among the most requested items here. They suit porches, entrances, colonnades and interiors. Add column capitals and bases and the composition starts to read as classical. For gates and community monuments, see custom estate entrance and gateway design and custom subdivision entrance designs.

Openings and wall surfaces. Arches and keystones soften a hard facade. Trims, pediments and niches do similar work at a smaller scale, and appliques and onlays are the quietest items in the catalog and often the most effective. See custom appliques and onlays for made-to-order options.

Rooflines and corners. A cornice finishes a wall at the roofline, sets the proportions of the building and helps shed water away from the wall. Crown moldings do the same job where a wall meets a ceiling. Corbels and brackets add rhythm, and custom rafter tails and knee braces cover the less standard cases.

Terraces and gardens. Balustrade and railing systems define a terrace, balcony or staircase. Antique flower pots anchor an entrance or soften a plaza, and custom antique flower pots are available when the catalog sizes do not fit.

EPS Core and Polyurea Hard Coat

Every item starts as a lightweight EPS core, which holds fine detail and is easy to shape accurately. On its own, foam is not an exterior product. The finish makes it one.

The polyurea hard coat forms a weatherproof shell with impact resistance and UV protection, and a faux finish on top lets the piece read as cast stone, limestone or plaster. To be precise, these products are not made of cast stone or concrete. They are an engineered composite designed to resemble those materials, light on the inside and tough on the outside.

Weight is where foam earns its place. Lighter elements are easier to lift, ship and fix to a wall without heavy rigging, and on renovations, where the structure was never designed to carry stone ornament, that can decide whether a detail is possible at all.

Custom Fabrication: From Sketch to Finished Element

Most of the work behind the store is custom, and the process is the same for one corbel or a whole entrance.

  1. Consultation and engineering. We review your drawings and goals, and engineers make sure every detail is structurally sound.
  2. Precision fabrication. CNC technology cuts the approved digital model and craftspeople finish by hand, so fine historical profiles come out sharp.
  3. Protective coating and finishing. The polyurea hard coat and faux finish turn the lightweight core into a durable exterior element.
  4. Delivery and support. Pieces arrive marked and ready for installation, and the team stays available for technical questions.

Size is the most common change, followed by profile and finish. Beyond the catalog, the store lists made-to-order work such as pergolas and arbors, green wall panels, finials and ornamental caps for column posts, HVAC soundblock enclosures and gable brackets with decorative vents. The best time to scope them is early, while the design is still flexible. Bring whatever you have: a scanned drawing, a phone photo, rough measurements. The consultation form accepts uploaded sketches and documents.

Where These Elements Are Used

Hospitality projects use them for entrances and terraces, where the first impression matters. Multifamily developments rely on cornices, trims and balustrades to give repeating buildings some individuality. Commercial and retail projects use arches, columns and pediments for presence, and homeowners add crown moldings, shutters and trim inside and out.

Architects want accurate drawings and consistent profiles. Builders want parts that arrive labeled, light enough to handle and quick to install. Developers care about schedules and budgets across many units.

We support projects nationwide, supplying custom architectural assemblies for hospitality, multifamily, commercial and residential developments across the United States. Service-area pages cover cities including Jacksonville, New York, Boston, Chicago, Miami, Dallas, Houston and Los Angeles.

Why Buyers Choose Decorative Architectural Shapes

Durability. The hard coat gives each piece a weatherproof shell, the difference between a decoration and a permanent part of the building.

Experience. More than 25 years of fabrication means fewer surprises with unusual openings, old details and moving schedules.

Precision. CNC accuracy and hand finishing work together.

Made in the USA. Production happens in Jacksonville under one roof, so quality control and communication stay direct.

How to Choose the Right Elements

Start with the building. Check proportions first, since a small house is overwhelmed by a heavy cornice. Keep columns, capitals, balustrades and moldings in the same architectural family. Think about where each piece will sit, because exterior elements face weather and interior ones do not. Finally, know what the wall is made of and how the piece will be fixed.

Request drawings before you commit and compare them with site measurements. Order related elements together so profiles and finishes match, and ask about finish samples. Our blog covers how to install foam molding, exterior window shutters and the types of dormers, which is useful reading before an order.
